Welcome to the Qeros Foundation website

The aim of the Qeros Foundation is to support a community of indigenous people of Peru, the Qeros people. They live in the Andes Mountains.

The Qeros originate from the Inca´s, that once were very powerful in Peru. However, the Qeros are now being considered a minor group of people.

In order to develop the Qeros community they informed the founders of the Qeros Foundation that they are in need of solar panels. Don Mariano, a respected ´elder´ and ´healer´ took the initiative to ask for help to supply solar panels to the Qeros community.

The heart of the Foundation´s effort is to improve the quality of life of these people and this can best be accomplished by increasing their skills level, through improved education and by enhancing their ability to read and write. Solar panels will not only help in their education but give them extra hours to do their hands craft, the sale of which provides much needed additional income. As the sun sets very early in the evening, around 06.00 p.m., solar panels will help the children in doing their home work after the hard work in the fields is done.
